Who We Are

Welcome to 34th Warrington West (Chapelford) Scout Group!

We’re a friendly, welcoming and active Scout Group based in the heart of Chapelford, Warrington. We bring young people together to have fun, make friends, try new things and discover what they’re capable of.

From camping trips and outdoor adventures to creative challenges, teamwork and learning practical skills, there’s always something happening at Chapelford Scouts. No two weeks are quite the same, and that’s just how we like it!

Who are we?

Founded in 2016, Chapelford Scouts has grown alongside the local community, providing opportunities for young people to develop confidence, independence and skills that will stay with them for life.

We’re part of The Scouts, the UK’s largest mixed youth organisation, and are proud to be part of the Warrington West District.

Our group is entirely volunteer-led. That means everything we do, from planning exciting activities and organising camps to keeping our group running behind the scenes, is made possible by a fantastic team of dedicated volunteers.

What do we get up to?

Scouting is about far more than just camping and tying knots (although we do plenty of that too!).

Our programme gives young people opportunities to:

  • Explore the outdoors – From camping and hiking to discovering nature and enjoying adventures in the fresh air.
  • Learn new skills – Develop practical abilities, independence and confidence through hands-on activities.
  • Make friends – Meet new people, work together and build friendships that last.
  • Take on challenges – Step outside their comfort zone, try something different and celebrate their achievements.
  • Make a difference – Get involved in the local community, help others and make the world a little better.

Most importantly, we make sure there’s plenty of fun along the way!

Our Sections

We offer Scouting for young people aged 5¾ to 14, with each section providing age-appropriate adventures, activities and opportunities.

Beavers | Ages 5¾–8

A first taste of Scouting, packed with friendship, fun, discovery and new experiences.

Cubs | Ages 8–10½

Bigger adventures, exciting challenges and opportunities to discover what they’re capable of.

Scouts | Ages 10½–14

More independence, new responsibilities and opportunities to push boundaries and take the lead.

Each section has its own identity, but we’re all part of one big Chapelford Scout Group!

Our Volunteers

Behind every great Scout adventure is a team of brilliant volunteers.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing different experiences, interests and skills to the group. You don’t need to be an outdoor expert, have previous Scouting experience or know how to pitch a tent!

Whether you’re helping deliver activities, supporting our Trustee Board, organising events or lending a hand behind the scenes, there’s a role for everyone.

We’re always keen to welcome new people into our team and would love to hear from you.

Part of something bigger

We’re proud to be part of The Scouts, a movement that believes in giving young people the skills they need to succeed in life.

Through adventure, friendship and everyday challenges, we help young people build confidence, develop character and make a positive contribution to the world around them.
